Lance Trumbull - Producer and Director

In 2002 Lance sold everything he possessed: his business, his car, his personal items and moved to Nepal with two duffel bags of climbing and trekking gear to travel around the Himalayas and lead a more deep and meaningful life. This radical change led Lance to create The Everest Peace Project - a peace organization whose mission is to inspire and promote peace and a Climb for Peace expedition of Mt. Everest.

Lance was the expedition leader for The Everest Peace Project’s history-making Everest peace climb. He helped successfully lead 10 people to the summit of Everest. Lance directed and produced the film and also helped film the documentary in seven different countries; he also appears as an important character on screen. Lance is an avid explorer who has traveled all over the world in the search for adventure.

He went to school at UC Berkeley, where he studied religion under world famous scholar Huston Smith. Being a Buddhist he has actively tried to lead a compassionate and mindful life. His passion has been mountain climbing and exploring -he has spent many months trekking and climbing throughout mountains in Nepal, Tibet, China, Mongolia, Russia, and India. In July 2005, he successfully led the Kilimanjaro Climb for Peace team to the roof of Africa - and on May 18th, 2006 his Everest Climb for Peace summited 10 climbers.

Lance currently lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife Tikky, his son Kaden, and his Yellow Lab Joey. He travels the country and gives special screenings and speaking engagements about his award winning film. He is also writing a book about his life and the Climb for Peace expedition.
