EPP Film in Chicago - Illinois Institute of Technolgy

By Lance Trumbull | April 18, 2008

While Wanda Vivequin was screening my film in Jasper, Alberta Canada (see previous blog entry) - I had the fortune to be screening the film for students and faculty at the Illinois Institute of Technology.

It started off a bit bumpy - literally! The landing of the plane was quite scary - a very rough landing - BOOM - as a hardcover book came flying down the middle of the plane…but it certainly got much better from there. As my host Lynne Meyer picked me up I realized just how hungry I was - and being that I was in Chicago for the first time, what better idea than to try real Chicago Style Pizza! We went to a place called Connie’s - and damn - it was incredible! If you are ever in Chicago this is a must stop place for pizza!

And then it was off to the school. The building where we screened the room literally had a train going thru it…it was a bizarre place and the architecture layout seemed like it was done by a guy on who must have been on some psychedelic mushrooms! - seriously.

The auditorium was very nice - there was also a great layout of food (great cookies!). The faculty and students were enthusiastic and we had some great and interesting questions; I ended up staying an extra half an hour to speak to people after the event. It was a warm and enjoyable screening.

It was a very quick trip to the Windy City - but a very memorable one. I hope to go back again sometime soon…
