How We will Promote and help bring Peace to the World:
1. By Providing Inspiring Examples of Peace - "It's through actions of peace that peace is spread". Through international, multi-faith Peace Climbs across the world. The first Climb for Peace was in September 2004 on The United Nations International Day of Peace. The second was our successful Kilimanjaro Climb for Peace in 2005, and on May 18th, 2006 we summited 10 people on our history-making Everest Climb for Peace.
2. By Educating Children - our future peace makers about the need for peace and understanding. Through our educational partner Room to Read our mission is to build schools and peace libraries. In 2006 we helped fund a library for kids in Nepal - help us now fund a school!
3. By Creating a Kids for Peace Program - in which The Everest Peace Project is working towards developing educational peace and cultural programs and peacefully connecting children across the earth through the internet.
4. By Educating Adults. The best teachers teach through inspiration and example. The Everest Peace Project's peace climbs will provide not only an inspiring example of peace, teamwork, and friendship - but a call to action for the rest of the world to follow in its footsteps and to create more projects of peace.
5. By Capturing the Peace Climbs through Documentary Films - (Everest: A Climb for Peace) Through this medium of film, The Everest Peace Project's Peace Climbs should reach and inspire millions of viewers across the globe for many years to come.
6. Through our International - Educational Web site - by documenting the various peace events and peace programs in detail and by providing a venue and forum for learning and discussion. Already the EPP web site has been viewed by people from almost 200 different countries.
7. Through National and International News Stories - about The Everest Peace Project's inspirational peace climbs and our upcoming documentary film. People are influenced and motivated by the stories they read and the images they see. Our Peace Climbs have provided the world with inspirational stories, pictures, and videos that portrayed courage, friendship, and teamwork. The Everest Peace Project has already been covered by BBC Asia, Reuters, AP, NBC, CBS and the EPP founder has appeared on radio and television talk shows.
8. Through a Book Written by the EPP Founder - about The Everest Peace Project and its history making Everest Climb for Peace. The book is in the process of being written - stay tuned....
